Jack Shane, BA

PhD Student, Stanford University Department of Economics

Jack is a 2nd year PhD student in the Economics department at Stanford. His main research interests are in the fields of development and labor economics, especially how labor markets operate in weak institutional environments. Prior to beginning his PhD, he worked for two years as a research assistant with Grant Miller at the Department of Health Policy at Stanford, looking at questions in child and maternal health, as well as labor trafficking and child labor in Bangladesh and Brazil. He earned his bachelor's degree in economics and mathematics with High Honors from Bowdoin College in 2022.
