Juan N. Pava is a Research Associate in the Tech Ethics and Policy Rising Scholars Program at Stanford University’s McCoy Family Center for Ethics in Society. He presently works with the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence, where his research explores the intersection of emerging technologies, the social sector, and the Global South, with a focus on equity, access, and governance. At the Lab, his research investigates conceptual and statistical challenges of defining and measuring labor exploitation. Before joining Stanford, Juan earned his B.A. in Philosophy and Economics (cum laude) from New York University.
